Frost Protection

Way To Go Heliservices provide a Frost Protection service every year to the viticulture and horticultural industry: vines, fruit and vegetables. Our helicopters can be utilised on an as needed basis to protect valuable crops from damage and destruction.

By taking advantage of the rotor downwash to help drawn down the warmer air from the inversion layers onto the crops it helps keep the desired crops warmer, enhancing frost protection. 

All our machines are equipped with 2 x way FM and VHF radios with push to talk capabilities, allowing the pilot to communicate with other aircraft and personnel on the ground. 

Our pilots and helicopters meet CAA standards for both Frost Protection and Night Flying.
